Local and World Hunger
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.
Last year Trinity raised over $10,000 for world hunger projects and contributed to the success of ELCA World Hunger’s Walk for Water fundraising challenge which raised over $500,000 and received a matching donation – totaling more than $1 million in gifts for water projects. These gifts are making a difference, but our work is far from over.
Consider This: Globally, 1.8 billion people – that’s about one out of every four people – drink from contaminated water sources. Improving water access and quality creates a variety of opportunities, including better health and more time for work and school.
Members donate dollars and food to the Larimer County Food Bank and support other local organizations such as the Homelessness Prevention Initiative as well as donating to ELCA World Hunger.

2016 Trinity Food Bank Drive
On November 5 - 6 Trinity will sponsor its annual drive for local hunger. We will collect money and preserved food to help the good work of the Food Bank for Larimer County. Of course, you can donate or volunteer at the Food Bank at any other time too.The need is great: Nearly 43,000 neighbors in the County often do not have enough to eat. Many of these are elderly or children. This is a reality for nearly 1/3 of the children. Last year the Food Bank distributed enough healthy food for 7.4 million meals. In our narthex are containers for collecting preserved food that will be brought to the Food Bank. But, even better are donations of money. Each dollar provides enough food for about 3 - 4 meals. If you contribute by check, please make it out to ‘Trinity Lutheran” and designate on the notification line on the lower left “Food Bank.” Trinity will accumulate the financial donations and pass them on the Food Bank. We have in past years had a very good record of support for the Food Bank through our contributions of volunteer service, money, and food. Please help us maintain our support for this great need.
