Local and World Hunger
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. Matthew 25:35 Last year Trinity raised over $10,000 for world hunger projects and contributed to the success of ELCA World Hunger’s Walk for Water fundraising challenge which raised over $500,000 and received a matching donation – totaling more than $1 million in gifts for water projects. These gifts are making a difference, but our work is far from over. Consider This: Globally, 1.8 billion people – that’s about one out of every four people – drink from contaminated water sources. Improving water access and quality creates a variety of opportunities, including better health and more time for work and school. Members donate dollars and food to the Larimer County Food Bank and support other local organizations such as the Homelessness Prevention Initiative as well as donating to ELCA World Hunger.
