Worship and Music

Mission:

• To assist the pastor and Congregational Council in providing for the highest quality in the congregation's worship and to involve as many members as participants and leaders, according to their gifts.

Members:

• Sharyn Salmen-Chair/Secretary/Council Member; Terry Rasmussen; Lois Olsen; Mary Ann Miller; Helen Bernecking; Marcia Yernberg-organist; James McCray-choir director; Jim Rasmussen-pastor.

Our major accomplishments:

1. To provide a Community Concert Series as a community enjoyment outreach program.
2. To purchase 250 of the most current/updated New Hymnals: Evangelical Lutheran Worship Book; Cranberry/Silver on 2/11/07
3. To implement on 9/16/07 a new Pipe Organ with over 1100 new pipes which adds to the musical enjoyment of our worship service.
4. To attract young families who could worship together. We continue to look to attract new members and offer a variety of meaningful services.

We work to assist in planning all regular and special worship services of the congregation for:

• Epiphany
• Lent; Holy Week-Palm Sunday; Maundy Thursday; Good Friday; Easter
• Pentecost: Summer Outside Service & World Hunger Service: African Mission
• Advent & Christmas
