Text Box:       Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Greetings brothers and sisters in faith.

As I write this letter, I’m thanking God for each of you and for your commitment to God’s mission for Trinity. As I reflect on the past four months it seems clear that God has surrounded each of us in His perfect love and He continues to guide us into the ministry that we’ve been called to in this place.

Looking back to October and the loving and unselfish support that was shown throughout the hours and days following the tragic loss of Pastor Jim, you clearly demonstrated your love. You have surrounded Terry and her family with a truly caring spirit.

You have also reached out to each other and shared hugs, stories and love. Indeed you are a reflection of the Christians of Thessalonica that Paul addresses in Thessalonians 5:11. I’ve watched you ‘encourage one another’ as you’ve walked through grief and pain. I’ve seen you laugh together as you remembered the fun times shared in ministry. Oh, the many times that you ‘build up each other’! The process of nominating and electing a Call Committee certainly was a testament to your support for each other. And the list goes on!

As we move forward, the opportunities that lie ahead are both exciting and at times overwhelming. Thank goodness we can depend on God’s presence beside us each step of the way. We have also been given such a wonderful gift in our prayer connection with our gracious Lord. What a comfort it is to know that nothing is too great or too small to ask in prayer. As the call committee begins their journey, I would implore each of you to make a commitment to daily prayer for the preparation and continuation of the call process. We will be providing tools,
community opportunity and structures for dedicated conversations with our gracious God
through this process. More on that later!

Please join your Council leadership in walking faithfully into the future with our wonderful God, eager to see what lies ahead and how we are being called!

Serving, loving and praying,
Marilyn Hartig, Congregation President.
