THE COMMUNITY 'WOOD-FIRED' OVEN PROJECT
Thank you for taking the time to peek into the Community ‘wood-fired’ Oven project shepherded by Trinity Lutheran Church of Fort Collins. We are excited about this venture and hope that you will join us in providing this unique experience for Fort Collins and the surrounding communities. Our project will be the first of its kind on the Colorado Front Range and only the second community oven to be built in Colorado. Note the photos are from the first community oven in Colorado.
We are approaching this project as the facilitator for a project that reflects the involvement of the entire community. Trinity’s location, along the Spring Creek Trail, has both easy access and high visibility from the heavily traveled trail.
We have purchased plans from the recognized authority on wood-fired community ovens and are presently starting the process with a timeline and materials list. We have already received positive and excited response from those with whom we’ve shared this idea. In fact, Sign-a-Rama donated our ‘Coming Soon’ sign that will be visible to those traveling Spring Creek Trail.
How can you help? We’re focusing on donated time, talent and materials to accomplish this project. Of course, financial donations are accepted, but are not our main target. Who do you know who could provide expertise or materials to make this project come together?
We’re hoping to lay the foundation for the oven and surrounding structure this fall. With that in place, we can maximize the ‘off season’ for those professionals willing to help without impacting their busy season.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
The possibilities are endless. Here are a few of our suggestions.
HOW WILL THIS COMMUNITY OVEN SERVE FORT COLLINS?
