Text Box: Dear Friends,

First, I want to express my appreciation and that of the entire congregation to all who have done so much to bring the celebration of Christmas to this ministry.  From music to the children’s program, from inside and outside decorations to food and fellowship and everything else we have a great treasure of talent and interest in the Trinity community. As we move into the New Year, I don't want us to forget Christmas so I am asking that we sing one Christmas hymn all the way to the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.

The agenda for January includes the ministry fair, installation of church council and the beginning of the "Call Process" journey.  Pastor Bollman of the bishop's office will be meeting with the council at its regular meeting in January and will be with us in worship on the week end of January 24th.  Though many are acquainted with the workings of the church in this regard, it has been more than ten years since Trinity has been involved. We need to carefully follow the routine of the synod in this manner.

Our constitution calls for the congregation to elect six members to a Call Committee and charge them with the procedure of searching for the next pastor of Trinity.  This is no small responsibility.  It is a Holy Spirit led process.  There will many prayers of discernment.  As with candidates for other ministry positions, we will have a council led process for recommending to the congregation folks who are willing to serve. Obviously, folks asked to serve must whole heartedly believe in the viability and ministry of Trinity.  Such people must be committed to prayer, positive thinking and enthusiasm for the future of Trinity. There is considerable time commitment in this journey.

I believe that there are surprises around the corner for Trinity.  God leads the church, many time we think we can do it better!  We believe in the "priesthood" of all believers.  That all of us stand before God, called to put our priesthood on the line.   By that I mean that all of us put our shoulders to the grindstone and share in the positive future which God has planned for us.  There are  opportunities out there and by God's grace we can discover them.
