Call Committee October Update
Dear Trinity Friends,
Trinity offered a call to Reverends Gabi and Meghan Aelabouni and they have joyfully and humbly accepted that call and will become Trinity's Co-Pastors.
We would like to thank the Congregation for their support during the last eight months. You willingly gave us your thoughts and hopes for Trinity's future through surveys, letters, conversations and forums. You were patient while we assembled our profile and prepared ourselves for receiving candidates. Your patience continued during the months of the interview process and you were partners in assuring the confidentiality of the candidates. That so many of you could be part of the warm and joyful welcome given to Pastors Gabi and Meghan at the open house spoke as clearly to them as their words did to us. Finally, thank you for the tenor of the discussion and the vote to accept them overwhelmingly. All of this while surrounding Trinity, the candidates and us with your prayers that the Holy Spirit would be our guide.
Special thanks to some people who helped us along this road so far: Pastor Paul Schairer, Pastor Dan Bollman, Pastor Jason McSpadden, Pastor Michael Stadtmueller, Ralph Yernberg and the Congregation Council. While it's often stated perfunctorily, in this case our spouses and families did truly give an amazing gift of interrupted lives over an intense, extended time when normal family communication was not always possible.
So, are we at the end of our road? Is our work done? In one way, of course, yes. But in the greater way we have decided to stay together to aid in the transition and support of our new Pastors. We continue on the road with you in a mutual ministry with Pastors Meghan and Gabi that reflects God's call to us all.
We journey together,
Trinity Call Committee

Our Committee consists of Bob Beckman (Chair), Dave Karst (Vice-Chair), Cheryl
Dolan and Susie Stark (Secretaries), Dave Armstrong and Steph Dugger (Members)
and Rick Walberg (Alternate and Chaplain). Youth representatives are Jill
Remmers and Alec Schilling.
CALL PROCESS PRAYER
Almighty God, as you have raised up faithful servants of your holy Word and
Sacraments to tend your flock in each time and place, send now, we pray, a
faithful shepherd to lead our flock. Send us a shepherd of goodness and grace,
of strength and faith, of righteousness in your sight. Send us a shepherd to
comfort and care for us, to preach your word, to teach our children, to baptize
and commune, to marry and counsel, to visit and lay to rest, to guide us and
pray for us. Give us a holy patience in this time of discernment, a patience
that trusts in you for our present and lasting care, knowing that you will
bring our good work to fulfillment in your time. Keep us faithful in mission,
regular in worship, responsible in stewardship, mindful of the needy and
diligent in prayer. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and magnify our gifts of
discernment, as we seek to follow your will. Eternal God, you call us to
ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths yet untrodden, through
perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with courage not knowing where we are
to go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. O Lord, hear our prayer.
